Late Nagappa Kamath

A Journey Rooted in Tradition

Our story began in 1960 when Nagappa Kamath, a young man with a dream, opened a small bakery near Aruna Talkies in Puttur. Having honed his skills in the sweet section of a hotel in Madikeri, Nagappa returned home to share his love for baking with his community. With humble beginnings, he personally crafted sweets and sold them, laying the foundation for what would become a beloved family legacy.

In 1980, his son Narasimha Kamath joined the business, bringing fresh ideas and energy. Together, they expanded both the retail presence and production capabilities, nurturing Popular Bakery into a household name. Over the years, we’ve grown from a single bakery to multiple branches, always staying true to our roots.
